25/03/2003 First, congrats to the winner and his fantastic time in Beijing! He took the lead at his teammate pArAnO from the first CheckPoint (=CP1; view all) and nobody was able to challenge him till finish line. Let's examine the details of this event. The first part (until divided highway) was easy, and all drivers has got very close times. Then we can see an interesting solution at 180° turn where CTG and Zak took it in a different way than all the other drivers: they slow down more at the beginning but they have more speed after the corners. This way is to be reminded for next tracks, especially if there is a fast and long part after a 180° turn like this one. After that, the elevated corners start to make a significative differences between drivers, and then we reach the Key Point of the track. Beeing able to slightly reach 6th gear on the jump after the CP2 was a marvellous way to earn at least 3 seconds by landing in the descending part of the hill. To do that, Alan Rotoi and pArAnO landed under the tunnel instead of landing on it, and they managed to take the corner before the jump with 5th gear! Obviously a big performance and a proof of their skill. Then we have a 6th gear part (thanks to the loop) and a difficult landing on a small banked road. Difficulty avoided Zak who managed to make a huge jump and land after this banked corner (CP3). This here that we also see Dayan doing a fantastic trick to reach the elevated road, I recommend you to watch it (ask Mingva for replay). The final wasn't too difficult, with elevated corners and a corkscrew up/down to make a final selection between drivers. Bonzai Joe did a good finish (after CP4), but it was not enough to reach Akoss Poo who was almost equal to him at the beginning but who managed to make the difference from CP2.
